Installing Zalman 7700 AlCu

In the instructions they say to just put the compound on the processor and place the fan/heatsink on the processor and tighten it down. I have heard of turning the heatsink slightly to get rid of air pockets, but I am wondering if I need to do this for the 7700. I am using Arctic Silver 5

its a good idea to do that, although some people will say that you should aim to put a very thin even layer of paste over the surface of the cpu so that you dont need to do this. its usually a matter of personal prefence.

make sure to clean all surfaces using RUBBING ALCOHOL!

another note--> coffee filters work nicely as a lint free wiping utility when applying silver 5.
