Please could you tell me if it is ok to leave an integral 128 Mb USB 2.0 Flash Drive connected to the computer all the time, or is it better to unplug it after every use? I am concerned it may damage it by leaving it in, but it is so much easier just to leave it plugged in.

I can't see how it would damage your comp, after all there are usb dependant devices such as wireless mice which require a usb reciever to be plugged in

yeah it'll be fine i have 1 usb pen that ive stood on dropped, bent the actually usb connector and its still going strong so i think it'l be fine. saying that i always have my external hdd's plugged in all the time so all is good :)

the computer will be fine, and the only thing I could possibly think of is, if your computer runs hot, it might transfer some of that heat to the USB drive. But I don't think it would be nearly hot enough to do any damage to the drive.

Thank you for your helpful replies. It is such a relief to get answers to what must be simple questions to you. I have spent ages trying to get logged onto the computer forum of the firm that sold me my computer with no success yet.

So could you answer the two questions . Why does MacAfee download the virus scanner almost every evening?

Also is their a special type of pen for writing on CDR's?

Thank you Rome
