Intel 985 "Supercharged" - Legit?

150? I have not seen them below 600 anywhere. What is wrong with the listing so that I might know what to look for next time?

The fact that it's so cheap and the listing is covered in writing and pictures suggesting that this processor has been overclocked. Just doesn't look very professional does it really? And also the fact they call it an i7 985 "Supercharged Extreme" or whatever. :/

Lol, that's a pretty bad chip imo. 1.43V for 4.3ghz. My i7 920 takes somewhere around 1.2V(or at least did) for 4.2ghz...

I don't have a system ready for it or anything, but if I did i'd plan on running it at stock clocks to prolong life - if that helps any. So, avoid then I guess?

Yeah my 2500K is around 1.18-1.2V for 4.3GHz. I bet this "Supercharged" CPU actually runs pretty hot...

you'd be much better off with a 3770k, and a quick google says these are actually 920's he overclocked from 2.66, and like we said, the settings don't carry from bios to bios. the 985 doesn't exist and is only a quad core too.

Because I was shopping for black box intel chips in particular, hoping to get a good deal.(980x, 990x, 3960x, etc)

The 990x and 980x are old technology. The i7 3960x would be the top of the line product, even that is one generation old, but I doubt it will run much better than the 3770k in most applications. The only benefit it might be in if you run alot Cads software or run as a server. I don't see the performance justify the price tag. Just my opion.
