i was wondering about the difference between the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 660 supporting Hyper-Threading Technology and the Intel® Pentium® processor Extreme Edition 840 what is the difference between them and which one is better and what is the best processor. im guessing if you want to change the processor you got to replace the motherboard!

8xx is dual core ... that and the EE is DualCore+HT which means it can handle 4 threads simultaneously (dont expect massive gaming performing or anything since games are generally single threaded). As for which is better, the 8xx is handsdown superior ... but at a costly jump.

You will need a 945 (or newer) board to run the 8xx while the 6xx require 865 (or newer)
