Its actualy socket 479 and the core duo and P M both suported PCIe, its just that most people used a socket 478 adaptor because the motherboards for these chips arent that great. Remember these are notebook chips, so some desktop motherboards might not have tons of features. But there is going to be a sweet core duo AOpen board based on the 975X chipset and its going to support crossfire coming out soon.

If you're wondering about there new "P3 like" architecture its called conroe, first off.

i know.. conroe... but what about it, i want specs i dont feel like googling it haha...
and i know, theyre laptop procs... but what if i dont want crossfire :P i prefer SLI

then why does newegg sell the core duo as a socket 478 proc?
'Cause neweggs wrong

Then you wait for nvidia to release drivers for intel chipsets or for nvidia to make a core duo chipset.
