Intel Demos World's First 32nm Microprocessor

I am definitely switching my i7 once this comes out. I also heard something that they might be able to dedicate 2 cores to process graphics information so you wouldn't even need a video card in the future.

Might be good for something like a gma... but for an actual video card it would suck since vga is like what, 4000% more powerful than cpu's at the moment?

I am not sure what you are talking about but I think Intel would know what they are doing. The latency would be non existent and obviously it would not be for the high end crowd but for the casual gamer.

Edit: I just relized what GMA is and I know for sure it will be more powerful than the current Integrated Graphics solutions that are available. I am looking for the article now but I remeber it saying that for most gamers they would not need to run a separate card because the design is so powerful.

Interesting article...can't wait to see the results of that.

Would be cool to have a the CPU/GPU work together to increase total performance. Aka you have a 8 core processor...games use 4 cores the GPU can then use the other 4 cores to help render etc.

Yeah, that something like that would make more sense than just the cpu doing the graphics, but still thinking about it though, why do we use gpus for rendering 3d and stuff like that, because they are much more powerful than the cpu counterparts. If something like this would go around, i would have to imagine it either works to help render alongside the gpu, or works to replace the current integrated solutions.

ehhh.....my computers would feel so naked without a beastly video card in them to show off :(
