Intel has benchmarked a quad-core Penryn chip

Intel has benchmarked the upcoming 45nm Penryn.

Here is a comparison between QX6800 and quad-core Penryn running at 3.33GHz with a 1333MHz front-side bus and 12MB of L2 cache

211% faster in DiVX
41% faster in HL2
25% faster Cinebench
20% faster MainConcept H.264 Encoding
15% faster Photoshop CS2

I think there is a math mistake because the Penryn is 111% faster in Divx encoding, not 211%

............

Anyway, Intel plans to release QX6850 in Q3 2007. QX6850 will have a clock speed of 3.0GHz and 1333 MHz front-side-bus. QX6850 will be priced at $999
