I replaced my cpu with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215 and, my motherboard with this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128405 running xp home. what I did was just hook my sata hd. back up instead of a clean install. at post, it says I am running in ide mode and wants to know if I want it to be changed to ACHI when I choose yes, the computer will not boot into windows? can I just add the ACHI driver if, that's the problem and possible to do or, should I run a fresh install? Also, during post it says no drives found if I don't, choose the ACHI option but then says loading operating system and boots on up. But, am I loosing disk speed performance running in ide mode? Thanks for all help!
