Hi there!

I am considering building a Mini-ITX computer for video playback on my television.

I was just wondering what kind of processor I would need to run Windows 7 and playback movies at 1080p.

What about these? (I'm looking at a lower price-point here...)

Intel Celeron G540 - 2.5GHz Dual Core, 850MHz iGPU
Intel Pentium G630 - 2.7GHz, Dual Core, 850MHz iGPU
Intel Pentium G850 - 2.9GHz, Dual Core, 850MHz iGPU

I am looking past i3,i5,i7 because the cheapest i3 is $55 more than the most expensive Pentium, and for that money I figure I can buy a perfectly suitable Graphics Card.

If you are going to fork for a graphics card anyway, then go for a celeron. It is enough to handle just about anything in the video department, as well as most other uses.

The Celeron costs $45, and the expensive Pentium $75

Would it be worth getting the celeron and a gtx 210, for example, rather than a pentium?

the GT210 should be fine. As would a GT520. Either will do you just fine.

To be more direct, yes. I would buy the graphics card and the celeron over the pentium. All the pentium has over the celeron is a few hundred MHz and a bit more cache.
