Intel Onboard Graphics vs Video Card

I only use my computers for running Tradestation with a single low res monitor, so overall my graphics requirement is quite low. I've never used a graphics card at all, just Intel onboard graphics. Recently I noticed that when I allow the monitor to go to power off mode (from Windows power management) while the Task Manager performance monitor is running, and then when I activate the monitor, the CPU utilization chart shows a much, much lower utilization than while the monitor is on. I am interested in minimizing the CPU utilization because Tradestation is a fairly demanding application (except for graphics). My question is would my Tradestation app performance benefit from having a video card, or is just leaving the monitor off going to work just as well? All my computers have at least 8 physical cores. The three computers I'm using are i-7 10700K, i-9 9900K, and an i-9 12900K.
