Intel Pentium 3.0C

Hi everyone

I am new to building computers and I have been trying to find out if the Intel Pentium Processor 3.0C is compatable with the Intel D865Perll motherboard. I have searched Intels web site but I can not find any information at all on a 3.0C. Is the 3.0C the same as a 3.0 processor.

I am looking for is a stable dependable computer to edit some home movies that I have. I am not really interested in over clocking at this time and if all goes well with this build I will dabble in over clocking on my next build.

The system that I am planning to build if all are compatable is:

CODEGEN ATX Mid-Tower Case
Kingston 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200
Intel "D865PERLL" i865PE Chipset Motherboard for Intel Socket 478 CPU
Intel Pentium 4/ 3.0C GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K Cache, Hyper Threading
ATI AIW RADEON 9600 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit,

If any one sees something that is wrong with this configuration please let me know. Thanks for looking. Any other suggestions would be great.

the P4C will work fine in that board. for what you say you want from it, it everything should work good

I have looked at the Intel web sight that you have given me but I still do not see any 3.0C GHz. Is the C just implied on the 3 GHz? I have gotten the information that I needed for the motherboard but was just wondering about the C.

Thank you all for your help

1. It doesnt have to say 'C' ... 'C' is a part of the Core designation not the name.
2. "C" or otherwise is not implied
3. 3.0 is simply an indication of the speed

C=Celeron?
How could a Pentium 3.0C = Celeron? :P
As Praetor stated it means its the Northwood C core variant. P4A = 400MHz BUS, P4B = 533 BUS, P4C = 800MHz BUS...does anyone know what the D model is or if there is one? I know theres a Celeron D model (I don't think there is, maybe Intel worked with the Creative marketers...make Audigy 2 skip Audigy 3, release Audigy 4  )

put that CPU in my kids PC it dose ok for normal use.
Is that supposed to be a question?

The "D" was skipped (perhaps to incite confusion/marketing from the P4EE/P4E) "Celeron-D" uses the new Intel notation (Celeron ###)
