how good is the Intel Pentium D 945 cpu?

Its a solid CPU... my dad runs his hp media center off of one. Depends on what you want to be using your computer for because you might want to look at c2d processors.

Yeah, its quite a great cpu i run it my self.
Just consider c2d e6320 if u want better performance since the price isnt far from PD 945.

The cheapest c2d is on par with the best pentium D, and the c2d is cheaper..

Core 2 duo definately not only is price cheaper and performance better ... its overclocking abilty is like .... over the top .. but im guessing ur not going 2 over clock it but. . yea core 2 duo definately

yeah ive got the core 2 duo, dont know how to overclock though.
