intel q6600 2.4ghz or a intel core 2 duo???

im building a gaming machine which prosessor better?? the intel quad q6600 2.4ghz i can get for 289$ on tiger or the highest core 2 duo is 299$. im a big time noob lol the comp i have now is a pentium 3 lol 1 ghz lol 512 ram and 128 5200 gefoce can u say dino lol .help please ,thanks
 
The general consensus is the Q6600. Not many people will say otherwise. Or you could wait till Jan when more Yorkfields are released.
 
k thanks thats what i figured .well with all this learning about computers im doing im sure bye time im finally ready to spend money all the new stuff will be out. but thanks i love this forum so far alot of ppl respond bunch of patient guys on here and takin it easy on a noob.thanks again
