I bought a Intel 320 Series 80 GB SSD. Now, I need help setting it up. Can I connect it to my sata II port and install windows on it just as I would do with any regular hard drive. I don't create partitions or any of that complex stuff. I was looking at the Setup SSD thread and it looked really complicated so I was hoping I could skip all of those things.

Yes sata II and III are compatible. Sometimes it might matter what mb port, so the first one might be best,(labeled 0 or 1).
+ Use the BIOS settings from the guide.
Use Intels driver installation proceedure.
I'd personally go with Option1 or Option2 for storage solutions but you can remap as you want. Just make sure it goes to hdd.
I'd also go with at least # 3 and make it smaller with no dedicated partition or move it to hdd , and 5,6,8, & 13. None are a must but help in the longrun.
Make sure bios is set to achi and achi driver is installed before rebooting to the ssd.

Thanks a lot, windows and drivers are installed. It didn't require any firmware updates, I suppose they were up-to-date. Anyways, computer is running fast.
