Intel Xeon E5-2620 same batch question?

Hi,

I went to order 2xIntel Xeon E5-2620 today from Scan.co.uk and the guy on the phone said wether I order them from Scan or somewhere I else I need to make sure the CPU's are from the "same Batch"

Is this True? Or talking nonsense?

I think as long as it is the same CPU model it should be fine.

Your problem is you are talking to the people from Scan, possibly the least helpful bunch in the industry.

So long as they are the same CPU model and the same stepping, it will all work fine. you can use different steppings, you just have to make sure they are running at the same settings, making it worse for simplicities sake
