Interesting Temperature on an AMD

I have an old AMD processor that is 1 GHZ (Not sure the model) and I turned it on and the second the OS booted speed fan reported 160 degrees! It used to run at 130. Then it just turned off. Anybody have any idea about what to do??
 
check if the fan is still spinning. if it is, take off the heatsink, dust it out, and reapply thermal paste. the paste is probably cooked on (happens alot)
 
I just reassembled it and I reapllied thermal paste. The problem was I was over clocking at 200mhz instead of 100mhz. After fixing that if worked fine. Thanks!
 
Just to clarify, you weren't going 200MHz, you were going 200MHz x whatever multiplier you had on. I'm not surprised you had those temps!
