Or I'm missing some crucial deals with the custom parts for my upcoming fun for everything computer. I'm just unsure if building one is cheaper than pre-built sometimes. I don't need anything ridiculous, but I want something I can do something with if I want to game sometimes, or watch a non family friendly movie.

build it yourself. The upgrade in GPU and PSU will be worth the $65 difference. (you left out a case, so figured in the price of a HAF912).
The standard PSUs in the prebuilt computers are especially designed crap. And when it goes out, it will take other parts with it.

a is lso the now and 8gb's of 1600 is with promos and that's just what i remember so may want to check that.

The Thailand floods (and the resulting hard drive price increase) already more than make up for the discrepancy (and the extra 4GB of memory too) - you'd probably get the drive for half the price under normal circumstances. Also, the graphics card is better (and a reputable brand, unlike what you'd get with a prebuilt). Same goes for the power supply - most OEMs stick in dodgy no-name power supplies, you could buy an equivalent for ~$30.
