Interface: PATA ??

New Member
I was looking at buying a new hard drive and came across this one: Maxtor Ultra16 PATA 250GB 7200RPM
It had a really good price and all, then I got looking at it and it said that the interface is something called PATA? I have heard of SATA but never heard of PATA before...

Will this work the same as a standard IDE interface or is there some sort of special computer that it only will fit into or do you need special connectors to hook it up or anything?
 
That is strange, then why not just say up front that it is IDE/EIDE inferface instead of PATA, that just confuses people...
