Erm...how much money will i have to spend and im not shure on the model but its just a Time computer. Actualy just found somthing...my friend just told me how to find out what grafics card im using and all i have is a 'S3 Graphics Pro Savage DDR' which is a driver isnt it? (thats what he said) which will mean my GFX is compleatly intergrated or somthing, so im going to need a new computer if i want to resolve the issue?:(

If that is the case, does anyone know any good places for deals? Internet or otherwise....with somthing around the lines of a 'GeForce FX 5900XT' GFX card?

I don't know what a Time computer is, but you can get a Dell or HP these days for just a few hundred dollars...

Either way, http://www.newegg.com or http://www.tigerdirect.com are two of the leading sites for computer parts. Depending on what you want to do, graphics cards can range from around $20-$30 to a couple hundred. I use my overclocked $30 card and can play Half-Life 2 and Halo with acceptable settings, but nothing special.

Try this: find your "My Computer" icon and right-click it. Go to "Properties" and you will see a listing of your processor type, and how many Ghz and ram you have. Just post those specs here.

AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+
1.81 GHz, 496 MB of RAM

thats my specs, ill check out those sites in a sec.

Dont think time run anymore - shows how rubbish the computers are :-)

I'll assume that you only have PCI, so I'd suggest this card for a low budget. I have the same exact one, only mine is 64mb this one is 128mb (twice the memory). Like I said before, its not too great for any new games, but nice for normal use.

EDIT: I think you'd be better off just trying a new graphics card before buying that. It has integrated graphics anyway, so its not a whole lot better than your current system.

ok its

integrate
sure
graphics

they will always be integrated but you can buy an add-on card and use that instead

I had an intergrated graphics chip in my computer and I wanted to replace it just like you did... It's easy!

Find out if you have an AGP, PCI or a PCI Epress slot... (maybe you could past a picture of the inseid of your computer?)

Then you buy a graphics card that'll fit.

You uninstall the intergrated graphics chip drivers, restart your computer.

The resolution will be HUGE! This isn't a problem.

Once you've made sure that the old drivers are un-installed, Turn your computer off and un-plug it.

Put the new graphics card that you just bought in, Plug your computer back in and power it up.

When it's done booting and you get to your desktop, the resoltion will still be MASSIVE! Install the drivers and any other software that came with your card and change the resolution to your preffered size!

EASY! :)

Yeah sure, When you get the chance, that way we can tell what type of slot you have and type of card you'll need... Is the PC fairly old?

If it's an AGP slot I have a great card to recoment that isn't too expensive!

think that might work...not shure, first time using image shack:D

anyway thats the inside of my rusty comp, if you need a better picture just reply saying so.

Let me just say, yes i know my computer is devistatingly old and dirty.

You just have PCI slots, so choosing a graphics card will be kind of tricky. It all depends how much you want to spend. You could be fine with a $40 card, or you could waste your money and get a $100 with a little more performance.

Wow, Your right, it is slightly dirty and small, lol.

Yeah, Jets right, You don't have an AGP slot, you only have PCI slots...
An AGP slot would look like this http://www.slo-tech.com/testi/plate01/agp_slot.jpg (the brown one)

Were as a PCI slot looks like this

I looked into it and I found one that is meant to be Ok:

It has good enough ratings and specs:

I hope this helps a little...:D

Kornowski, you are a legend ;-) thank you for all the help, that GFX card looks good to me, ill get some people to double check it and all. One last thing, did you see anything to do with sound cards or somthing in that picture? only i think im getting sound lagg sometimes but that might just be becouse of my GFX card(or the lack of one)

Thanks once again:)

:D lol, Thanks.

In the picture of your computer, the card in the bottom of the PCI slots is a modem, The top one... Well, It could be a sounds card, I'm not too sure...

On the back of your computer does it have a headphone plug where that card would be?

Your welcome :)
