Internet Accelerator

Well, I installed one and it did nothing but slow down my internet...even when I had uninstalled it the effects still remained...sluggishly slow 2mb broadband! It was like using 56k again.

The program in question is Webroots Accelerate..I want to get rid of the chages it made so I reinstalled the program and set everything which had a default back to default.

If anyone knows what else I can do, that would be great.


I can't do a system restore either as I have done too much since this install.

run adaware or spybot all that type of stuff (download managers and ad blockers are exceptions, they have some functionality) are almost always some form of spyware/adware trying to cover itself as a useful utility

If 2mb broadband is slow ... what would you consider normal?
