I have dsl service and voip service my internet speed and downloads crashes or is very poor with my voip adapter connected here is my setup:
modem > ethernet cable > voip adapter >ethernet cable > computer
when the modem is connected directly to the computer everything works fine
my question:
is there any way to split or something so I'll have two cables running from the modem one for the voip adapter and one for the pc?
is that a good idea?
if you have a better suggestion please let me know
thanks

if you replace your modem with a router, then yes you can run to cables from the router (does same thing as modem).

If you are getting a router make sure it has enough ports, and they are the correct type you need.

I just bought this modem a couple of months ago is working good but if there is no other way to do it I will look for a router
can you give me a example of a router that'll work with my setup Ineed one ethernet cable for the computer and one for the voip adapter
thanks
