but then it goes away and i am connected again what is prob? anyone? by the way i tried upgrading firmware and it kinda happens less often but still...

You may have an old cable that isn't grounded correctly.
You should track down your cable and looked at it's condition.
Your cable company may need to look at your problem it could be that the cable going to your house is in bad condition.
(Or, could be some other problems like NIC drivers out of date, bad modem or something like that.)
