Firstly, if I'm in the wrong sections please alert me and accept my appologies. I will move the post right away.
Right here we go. I am having a weird problem. My system will not allow me to open any applications that require the internet. I have tried surfing the internet with ie and firefox, alongside a bunce of other app's that use the internet but unfortunately I am having no luck. There are a couple of things that may help in understanding this problem:

  1. I do sometimes get an ie error log
  2. If I restart my sysstem, I can surf the internet for say 5 minutes then the same starts to (immediate shutdown).
  3. I have ran malwarebytes, superspyware (i think) and scanned with microsoft security essentials. Only tracking cookies showed up
  4. Ie explorer will not even run without add-ons. Andany application using internet crashes right away.
machine is win xp pro 32 bit.

Please advise me on what I need to do. Thank you.

Either look in the event viewer for errors regarding this or press the f8 button startup to access the safe mode options and select disable automatic restart on error and give us the blue screen code when it blue screens on you instead of restarting.

I have done a little researching for this case, and usually a system restore will solve this issue. I'll continue looking around.

also please stop using IE, your best bet is firefox to be safer....have you done a spybot scan? are all your security apps undated ?

That's not the issue, as IE actually has a much greater anti-malware definition database that can prevent viruses and what not than Firefox. So technically speaking, IE is safer in that aspect. Don't start the fanboy routine, please.

Anyways, I did some research, and found that this problem has occured a few times before. System restore was not accessible, and all internet applications would malfunction. Most common was a corrupted wireless/ wired driver.

Right guys thank you so far. I have an update. I managed to get in to system restore but I could not restore back to say a month ago. That is a point when I knew the system was fine. I have however managed to restore to about three days ago. I have also disconnected my wireless kleyboard. Very recently the wireless mouse malfuctioned and Im thinking that maybe just maybe the keyboard is causing problem. Also I did notice that when I managed to open internet last it would hang on a blank page.

UPDATE:

Sytem went into shutdown but I enabled the Blue screen so that it doesn't shutdown. Anyway, this is the error I got:

stop 0x00000024 (0x001902FE,0XA7684608,0XA7684304,0XB95DA64A)

ntfs.sys - address B95DA64A base at B95B2000, datestamp 48025be5

First, try doing a checkdisk on your c drive. Sounds like the file system could be corrupt.

I just did. There was errors on the system. I think for peace of mind Im just gonna reinstall everything.

Ok guys, chkdsk seemed to have fixed the problem, but since the system is pretty new and has nothing on it, I choose to re-install the operating system and call it a day. Thanks for everyones help. This has prompted another question though which I am gonna start another thread for.
