Please help me with following problem. The computer is laptop, Gateway, running Vista Home Premium. Internet connection is dial-up.
When connected, browsers (IE7 and Mozilla Firefox) can't connect to the internet, shows error like disconnected mode:mad:, but, for example, Windows Update connecting and normally downloading updates.
I've tryed to disable firewall, but no effect. I've checked the proxy servers, but all was correct. No antivirus sofware running (i have uninstalled).

PS. Sorry for my bad knowledge of English.

Hey Sonne,

-Is this new service for the internet?
-Can you post the exact error message when you reply back?
-Also post the results of "ipconfig" here from the command prompt.

Sonne,

Did their ISP have a setup CD or require manual setup of the dial-up connection? If there was a manual setup required, you may want to check to ensure that all connection information was input correctly (such as IP address, or address settings). If entered incorrectly, this would prevent some types of connectivity and perhaps all connections.

Now I can say these correctly.

IE shows "Internet Explore cannot diplay the webpage"
or shows "The address is not valid" and in the address bar appears "http:///".

Mozilla Firefox shows

"Failed to connect
Firefos can't establish a connection to the server at en-us.www.mozilla.com".
etc.

Windows IP Configuration

PPP adapter Dial-up Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix:
IP Address: 10.15.12.114
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0

In next rows are written about WLAN, Ethernet, Tunnel adapters, that was disconnected

At the end we see:

Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 13:

Connection-specifik DNS Suffix:
IPv6 Address: 2001:0:4137:9e50:344f:2cb4:f5f0:f38d
Link-local IPv6 Address: fe80::344f:2cb4:f5f0:f38d%14
Defauklt Gateway: ::

PS. I wont to add, that windows messenger can connect to the Internet, but browsaers IE, Mozilla Firefox, Opera 10, Google Chrome can't connect.

Sonne,

You need an IP address for the Default Gateway also, this may be for the router or modem. Try checking the connection to those devices if all is ok and you are still not able to access the World Wide Web I would contact my ISP provider to have this resolved.

Thats why I do not really like Vista, I am not guru in this question but some of my friends does not use Vista even if somebody will pay the money for it :)
