hello all
I've get an Internet connection, and I want to share it to use it on more than on PC,
on my desktop PC I've 2 Network Cards, one with the Internet Cable connected to it, and it has a specific IP address and Gateway, and the other network which will be connected to the hub.
I want details to how to make Internet connection sharing and how to set up other IPs on the other Pcs that are connected the HUB?
Thanks

what you are tring to do is use your pc as a router, this will slow down this pc when the other one is using the internet and of course it has to be on for the other computer to access the net.

i would suggest to get rid of the hub " if it is a hub " and get a router
hook the router to the modem and hook both pc to the router and you are good to go.

Yes, the rooter should not need much of a set up so the switch from hub to router is not that hard, routers these days also have a config feature when you go to access the internet for the first time, just stick to the manual and you'll be fine.

a little tech info

a hub is halfduplex meaning that it can only send or receive data at any one time but not both, it is also dumb and sends all data out all the ports so all the pc's will get the data and have to ignore it if its not for them.

routers run in fullduplex meaning it can send and receive data at the same time and it will only send the data to the pc that requested it

as you can see hubs are crap and slow down your network

yeap i do remember and i also remember buying my fisrt netgear router for
$250 us... ouch, haha i also remember my first cd rom $400 us
