internet down captain!!!

so i got a new pc (got rid of my macintrash) and hooked it all up and used my roomates internet to make sure that everything worked correctly. since then i made my own subscription to the net. at first the connection would hold for about 5-10 minutes and then shut off and have difficulties reconnecting. now it it refuses to even try to sync up and the modem shows no activity whatsoever. i contacted the provider and they said the line was fine (tested it out themselves after numerous complaints) and i have again tried my roomy's connection to verify that the modem and phone line are not the problem. what is going on?!
 
update your driver to the latest versions. Also, if using a dsl router update it's firmware as well. Most of the time that takes care of dropping problems.. :)
