Internet drops off when copying files to external hard drive

I have one hard drive connected to the front of my machine with a sata to usb cable and I have an external hard drive in a back port next to the port my wireless N adapter is plugged into on the motherboard. I’ve been backing up files all evening and it seems every time I start a transfer between the two, the network icon in windows disconnects and no networks can be found. What on Earth?

Interference from the hard drives, seems like you figured that out since you mentioned the adapter being plugged in where it is. Either move the adapter/hard drive during the transfer or just deal with it. I started having this issue with a wireless controller, would drop signal constantly when my HDD was plugged in to the port next to it.
