I had IE 6.0 and then I downloaded Firefox..everything was fine up until a few days ago. Internet Explorer started closing as soon as it opened and Firefox also started randomly closing.
I am currently running
Windows XP Home Editon
Norton 360
Firefox 2.9 Campus Edition
Internet Explorer 7.0 (it was suggested to me that an upgrade from 6.0 to 7.0 may fix the problem..but it unfortunately didn't)
Things I have done so far to try to fix this:
- Deleted all temporary Internet files and cookies
- adjusted space allowed to be used for temporary internet files down (in IE)
- Upgraded to IE 7.0
- Downloaded program from Microsoft to detect malicious software; said there was nothing
- Ran several complete scans using Norton 360...once again nothing
- Defragmented
- Ran an error check on Drive C; nothing
- Changed home page to google (someone suggested that my other home page may have been causing it)
Nothing has worked....if someone could help me out I would be ecstatic
