I keep getting a sign saying

Internet Explorer has encounted a problem and needs to close. Do you want to send a message?

How can I get rid of this?

It is causing some problems
 
It's not a virus, it's a program error message, meaning there's some problem with IE that's causing it to shut down.

There are several possible reasons. This Microsoft article may contain a fix, it also may be worth posting a Hijackthis log in the security section for Buzz to take a look at, since it is possible that something on your computer is causing the error. Read the Hijackthis Sticky if you're not sure how to do this.
