Internet goes down in Vista

my pc thats running vista sometimes once in a while just disconnects, so i restart my router and my internet is still down on pc, so i get my laptop out running XP and it picks up my wireless straight away. can anyone help me why vista's crap at wireless
 
Is your Vista machine wireless or connected via a cable? Could be a bad adapter, wireless or wired.
 
its wireless its a netgear wireless adapter and it has got windows vista drivers for it, so theres no reason why it shouldnt work
