Internet help.....

i have formatted my computer over 4 times for the same problem. everytime i format it i only put avast anti virus and netzero 7.0. when im in the internet it starts to download the newer version of netzero. once its done i install yahoo messenger. so like an hour or two after that the internet starts to cut itself off. i dont know it cuts off because the netzero tool bar is still there and its not when its not in service. when i get off netzero and try to get back on it wont let me because another program is using the modem or sumthing like that. when i formatted my other computer that never happened and i put the same files as the one im having problems with.any help........

Go into the network neigborhood (right click and go properties) and right click the dial up connect and go disconnect... then reconnect.. So, which program is using it? Which programs are open on the pc (ctrl alt del)

i dont know which program it is it just says it is being used by another program. i press ctrl alt delete but there are no programs opened. and i tried what you said but it still doesnt work.
