internet needs reboot

My computer and internet work perfectly well on startup,
But if i leave computer for a while, my internet connection fails and i have to reboot then it works perfectly again, Any ideas please as i am lost.

I am running windows xp
amd athlon 64 processor 3700, 2.2 gig, 2 gig ram
virgin service provider.

What operating system do you have?

What kind of computer are you running?

What ISP do you have?

above are questions that we need answered to help you.
 
Are you running dial-up, or broadband? If it's broadband (DSL, Cable, Satellite, etc), then check to see if the network is actually still up by going to Start > Network Connections, and see if there is a red "X" or yellow "!" on the NIC.
