Internet on pc cannot connect to server after five minutes

Hey everyone I have a big problem. Whenever I start up my computer, the internet works perfectly for about five minutes, then says it cannot connect to server. This is on both firefox and IE. But the internet works fine on my ps3 which I am currently on (no usb keyboard i might add, typing this is grueling.) and the ps3 internet is directly connected to my pc. can anyone please help
 
does the rest of the applications work? like messenger or download manager? and are u using xp?
