Internet Problem

I am on Windows Vista Home Premium with Comcast Digital Cable as my ISP. My internet works fine, however with some programs and games volume does not work. When I hold my mouse over my internet icon I get this:

This has never happened before and I dont know how to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
This happened about a week ago. When I bought the computer it was preinstalled with vista. As far as I know nothing has been recently installed.
