internet problems

I've been having some trouble with Gameguard and Internet Explorer being unable to access my internet. Firefox and any other program that I've tried works fine but IE acts as if I have no internet connection, while games that utilize Gameguard seem to have the same trouble. I've tried disabling my firewall with no success, does anyone know what could cause this?

Have you tried to ping with the command prompt to make sure that you acutally DO have an internet connection?

If I didn't have an internet connection I wouldn't be able to read or respond to the last reply...

Are you using a router? Some routers have firewalls built into them, so check that as well, an essential port might be blocked.
