OK. In my house we have a desktop computer with the internet. The internet is not wireless, there are cords that run in the computer. Im not too up to date on computers. So bare with me. My question is. If i buy a new computer for another room, hwo would I go about hooking the internet up to it? Its too far away to run another cable, so would I be able to install a wireless modem thing to run off the internet we already have so we dont have to pay more? thank you.

Yeah, sure, provided your internet speed is fast enough so that sharing it is ok. You can buy a wireless modem; you'll just need wireless cards for the PCs too. It could end up costing a few hundred.

Buy a wireless router/ modem router.
Hook the internet with router, than one of the PC with wired and the other one with wireless adaptor (I personally go for a USB one)

You will be looking at min. $60 overall.

careful, so far my experience with wireless has been ****

Wireless is great, unless you buy a really crappy router and a eBay wireless card.

DSL -> Router -> Wireless Card -> Your PC.

Recommended routers:

WRT54G
WRT54GS

Absolutely love those routers. Haven't failed yet, and their fast and reliable.
