My question is this, i recently bought a new notebook, with it i purchased a internal intel pro wieless module, i currently have 1.5mb/s broadband ethernet to the com) how can i make my laptop wireless around the house?

do i need to plug a wireless router into the phone connection etc? or what, also if i do need a wireless router, what is the best type for getting the best speeds for upto say 20meters, through walls etc in my house?

PLEASE HELP :)

you would just need to plug a Wireless Router into your Modem... as the modem will be connected to your PC at the moment.
good Router manufacturers are Belkin and Linksys.

As long as you have a broadband connection, any wireless router is all you need.

Nah man, you want a good router, spend about 100 or more on it. get an N interface or a G interface. G is the standard (which is probably what your PC is capable of conneting to) and N is the newest, do if you should get another PC in like 4 years or whenever, i will have N wireless. But anyways, get at least a G, N will include G. Put it in the center of the house. Your router will have intsructions on the install and all that. read on how to secure your network, this is important.

yeah, I would stay away from D-Link, we setup my work with about 6 of their routers and about 35 usb adaptors, and we were always losing connetivity, D-link acutally told me on the phone that a wired network was always a reliable way to go compared to wireless, i asked the guy if his boss knew he was telling people to not buy wireless stuff, lol
