Internet running soooooo slowwwww....

and its not connecting to some pages. im using FF and its just so bad. any speeding up tips or any reason its being like this? thanks. :confused:
 
dsl modem i think and ethernet connection to pc from modem. does that sound possible? im still a little slow on the lingo :-)
 
Run a virus scan, and tell us the speeds you're getting if you're getting any at all.
 
im running a virus scan now and also i have 5 other accounts on this computer and they all seem to be running fine i dont get it. also how do i find out the speed of mi internet?
 
Click Start> Run... type “gpedit.msc” and press Enter. In the left side panel under “Computer Configuration” double click “Administrative Templates” then “Network” and finally click “Qos Packet Scheduler”. In the right side panel double click “Limit reservable bandwidth”. Under the Settings tab click on “Enable” then set the “Bandwidth limit (%)” to = 0. Click OK, close the window and restart you computer. I think this only works in winxp pro

Aaa haa.... I was wondering why it is not working in my computer. I got XP. Anywya, thanks for the tip. my internet was slow as well.
 
when ever my internet is running slow i do a disk clean up clear all my internet files and disk defrag along with spybot serch and destroy and mcafee virus scan

its a shame i dont have the winxp pro edition. anyother options or things i can try? thanks :D
 
Hmm you should clean your cookies and history and temps. Other then that make sure you have alot of space to the computer and ram. If not it will run slow link the pc i have at SCHOOL lol. well ttyl :)
 
Six Million Seventy One Thousand Eight Hundread And Forty Two you should check that you are not running multiple downloads while browsing sites that slows it as well.
