Internet Search Issue

When I would search for an item on, for example, Amazon.com I used to be able to hit back to get to the search page that contained the search results. However, recently I have been unable to do this (with any website that requires me to enter information and then hit "back"); instead of showing the search results, I get a "Cannot find server" page and have to hit F5 to refresh the page to get back my information (and often, this doesn't work either--I end up just doing another search).

Since I frequently shop online, this is a real hassle. Does anyone know if there is some IE setting (I have IE 6.0) that I can change to get back to how my Internet Explorer used to work?

Please help and thank you!

Michael

I use firefox so I don't know much about IE. I suggest you switch to firefox because it is safer, free and way way better than IE. There is also a high chance that the problem will not happen in firefox. You can download firefox here: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
If you don't want to use firefox make sure that stuff like cashing and (maby(really I don't know))cookies are enabled.

You really should just try firefox. It wont delete IE or anything so it is not permenent.
Are all the cookies and cashing on for IE? The problem might also be a anti-virus program or something that prevents cookies or whatever. There might also be something in the security settings that is causing your problem.

im not a computer wiz or anything, but (i may be wrong) do you think it has anything to do with cache settings or something like that? or maybe you have bad connection, but i dont think you do.

What they said, use firefox. It's no big switch, you get used to it real quick. It doesn't look that different. It's got some forward/backward/stop/refresh/home buttons just like IE does, and you can go to sites just as easily. And I like the design more.

I'm not 100% sure whether this will help but if you go to Internet Options on IE6 > Settings on Temporary Internet Files > And increasing the amount of diskspace for cache might stop the problem occuring again.

just hold shift before you click the links in the results page it will open a new window while retaining the previous page. i dont browse solo windows anymore LOL.
