Internet security issues

Hi,

I have a friend who seems to be having major problems with his Internet security - many people seem to be able to use his BT Broadband Internet for their own use. I have offered to go down and run his installation disc again, to make sure that his Internet security is set up properly (he set it up himself last time).

I think I would be fine running the installation disc and following the on-screen instructions, but I was wondering whether I would have to uninstall his current BT Internet connection/settings first, or can I just run the installation disc without having to uninstall/do anything first?

Most likely he has an unsecured wireless router and all that needs to be done is enable security on it. Using WEP should suffice.
