I use norton2005 as well and have no problems, but I am sure we are going to hear the whole system resource hog issue come up but I dont see it, mine uses like 8mb of ram in real time, wow what a resource hog:rolleyes:

If I was going to switch though I would go with nod32 just because they have a little better detection rate!

real time? what's that?
Real time is when your antivirus is running in the background protecting your computer all the time, if you download a virus it lets you know right then you have one and gives you the option to delete it!

Bah, freeware ftw.

AVG Free Edition
Spybot Search and Destroy
Adaware
M$ Anti-Spyware

AVG and M$ Anti-Spyware have real-time protection, and all 4 work wonders to keep your computer safe.

are those apps good 4W4K3? Well at least as good as Norton?

Depends on what "good" is lol. I would say yes, they aren't as "heavy" as Norton by any means (meaning they don't bog down your system as much, they use fewer resources, and they just seem to run smoother. I had Norton CE for the longest time (i think it was 2003) and I actually traded it for AVG Free Edition, couldn't be happier.

I'm very happy with Norton, we've been together now for 3 years. We had our ups and downs but my computer will survive ha ha ha :P
Norton Internet Security is easy enough to use. The interface is okay and the constant updates are good too.

i use mcafee becuase i find norton too.....annoying, you get pop-ups very often about things that you donbt really care about, where as with mcafee it only tells you the things you need to know and is more user-friendly.
