Internet Service Provider banned me ;(

Hey fellas the other day I lost my internet connection. I checked my modem and I noticed the power light was flashing on and off so I called my ISP and they told me that I was banned because I had "IRC Bots" in my computer which apparently sent them requests for webpages that doesn't exist So I ran a few programs to clear some ad-aware and other viruses from my pc and called them back. Now I have internet back but I was warned that if it happens again they would cancel my internet FOREVER. What is going on fellas? Any help would be appreciated, thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont worry about it... you can always contact other ISP's to get better internet...

It is a nice way to get out of a contract though...

They probably had it in their heads that you intentionally wanted to abuse their DNS servers with failed requests.

I find that a little arrogant that they would completely blame it on you for having IRC bots, or some other form of malware inadvertently installed on your machine, and couldn't give you a call before they cut the connection informing you that they believe your machine is infected with malware that has created these requests and should be removed from your system so to avoid possible termination of your internet connection.

ISPs like to be bullies...I know, I used to work for a few .
