Internet sharing with VPN

Hi

I am currently at university and have to conect my laptop through a ethernet cable and then connect to the internet through a VPN. I was wondering if there is anyway to make this wireless a flat mate has a Desktop with both a wired and wireless network card if that helps??

I have a little background knowledge in this i believe, i am not sure but i think you need to bridge the connections some how, you can do this in network connections by right clicking the connections (i don't think you can just right click it and make it work but its one of the steps) i know this doesn't tell you much but i hope it helps
 
I think I understand the setup you have here, but excuse me if I have misunderstood.

Perhaps you could try plugging in a Wireless Access Point and then connecting to it wirelessly.
