Internet Slowed Way Down.

Well after about 10 power surges the other day my internet has not worked right since. I know I should have shut the computer off after it happened the first time but I did not. I ordered a new Ethernet card, I was just wondering is it possible that the Ethernet on-board on the motherboard go bad?

Power surges can do lots of damage and can take lots of time to determine what hardware is actually bad. If the power surge stayed in the electrical part then most likely the modem is bad. If the charge went into the ethernet cables, possibly a bad network card.

Oh okay thank you very much I just ordered a new card so will have to see if that does the trick. And no I am not using a ADSL filter however due to absolutely having to I am using a Powerline Ethernet Adapter. As I can not afford a secondary internet line for my house and I can not move the router "crazy stepmothers".

Im willing to bet your modem got fried before before your network card. Why not just call your ISP and ask them to do some tests on it before wasting your money on a new ethernet card?
