internet speed question

T1 is like 1mb down and 1mb up and cost alot, over $100 a month. T1 packages include 24x7 technical support, static IPs and more, mostly for a business.

ISDN is basicly the same thing only slower usually around 128k...cost to much!

Dsl or cable is the only way to go for home users unless you can afford a t3 line for about $3000 a month.

Cable 768k to 10mbs I think is there highest speed offering right now from anywhere from $19.95 for 6months to $60 a month. Your speed will depend on the provider and how many people are downloading at the same time in your neighborhood.

DSL 768k to 30mbs from like $14.95 to $150 a month depending on what provider and package you choose, you will recieve constant speeds as you have a dedicated line.

As previously stated, a T1 is 1MB down 1MB up. Quite expensive too. The new connection at my house is faster then a T1 download speed wise, and costs nowhere near as much. T1's are used in small businesses mainly

DSL - Uses the phone line to connect, speeds vary depending on the provider. Bandwith is capped by the provider, not shared bandwith like cable is. Verizon is one of the big DSL providers.

ISDN - Basically 2 56K modems working together and is 128kbps. Not fast at all and somewhat costly (last I looked anyways)

lol, I know him from another place, its a joke :P

In some places cable is faster then DSL, and other places DSL is faster then cable. I happen to have 15mbps down/2mbps up cable, its not even $50 a month for the super speeds, they even offer 30mbps down for $10 more a month:eek:
