internet won't work

ok, u see my bro's computer didn't have a lot of memory so... i decided to delete some useless junk, and i deleted this "homepage" item not sure what it is called and afterwards the internet couldn't work. however, on my computer the internet works and my computer is connected through cable to his computer to use the internet, yet his computer when u click on internet explorer, it says page not found. i've also tried detecting network settings and such, but nothing works.
 
it was in the C drive, i think either in documents and settings or program files. but because the internet didn't work after i cleaned up, i kinda assumed that it was because of that. however i don't know if that is completely true, cause it could be a coincidence. i 've tried reconnecting the internet but nothing works, and still the internet works on my computer.
 
is his connection enabled? all of them? go to start>control panel>internet and network connections>network connections. do they all say connected or enabled? also, if they all say this, repair them too. let me know what happens.
 
it says the following steps of the repair operation failed: renewed the ip address. please contact your network administator or ISP.
 
ok, just uninstall the network device fomr his comp and reinstall it, this should fix all the drivers and such....should be fine after this.
