Intrusion "ISearch DNS Request"

computer running slow

Yesterday, I received several popups from Norton saying this:

Attempted Intrusion "ISearch DNS Request" from your machine against [my IP] was detected and blocked.
Intruder: [my computer name and IP].
Risk Level: Medium.
Protocol: UDP.
Attacked IP: [my IP].
Attacked Port: domain(53).

At first it was just once, then a few more times. Then it came to the point where everytime i clicked OK it just kept popping up, so I just hit Ignore. Then when I get into my games, I noticed that every 10 seconds or so, my framerate would drop suddenly. I go to ctrl-alt-del and it shows my cpu usage going from about 0-1 % to about 60%, then back, over and over every 10 seconds or so. I got a program that sees what program is using how much cpu usage, and it shows CCAPP.exe (description: symantec user session, company name: symantec corporation) using a lot every 5 seconds or so, at the exact time when my cpu usage goes high.

then I go to my log viewer in norton, and it shows every 5 seconds the same message. EVERY 5 SEONDS! the list is HUGE.

why is it doing this?! how is my own computer attacking itself?

PLEASE someone help me! i've been everywhere, talked to everyone, I don't know what to do!

i can't play my games because of the slowdown I experience every 5 seconds. i've scanned with my spyware program and antivirus, nothing. why is norton detecting this "worm"!!? what's causing it? how do I stop it!? help!

few months late... sorry but I have an answer

Both the slow games and the NIS popup are caused by Webroot SpySweeper. Remove it and try playing a game.
