iOS 4

I'm surprised no one has talked about this yet. Anyone have the new update? I got it for my iPod Touch 2G and it's extremely disappointing and there's hardly a difference, mostly because Apple didn't bring the big features to the iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2G, only the 3GS and the new iPhone 4.

Your thoughts?

I actually started a thread on it and noone responded. But I have it and love it! I have the 3rd gen 32gb iPt though, so I get the wallpaper and multitasking and folders. With only getting folders like you, that wouldn't be great. But I think it is awesome! (Except app downloads now take forever)

I'm not that impressed.

I'm not super impressed with it but there are some changes that I've noticed on my 3g

Camera zoom- Pretty cool...but pretty useless because the camera is lame.

Folders- six pages into two, hells yes.

Looks a little sharper too, I think the apps are also closing a little faster.

Cons- Pandora keeps crashing on me, I'm wondering if its because its IN a folder?

Pandora works for me, but I just downloaded it today. Reboot and reinstall? The folders help. I had to many apps, I have over 200, and now it is condensed into 3 pages, so like you said, hell yeah. Still though, the background and multitasking are important. If you don't get them, it shouldn't be to different. Although my iPod runs faster now (probably because it was jailbroken before though.)

if you jailbreak it, you can use multitasking :D

Anyone know of a working jailbreak tool for iSO 4 for the iPod Touch 2G? I tried redsn0w, but it just hangs on the "waiting for reboot" screen.

The only thing that really makes a difference is multitasking, which doesn't even apply to most of the models.
I hardly see any point in upgrading to iOS 4. Are there any performance improvements at all? All it's done so far is imitate what jailbreaking can already accomplish years ago, and not even all its features, only Winterboard and Categories. I'd rather have a jailbroken iPhone with stuff like Rename, SBSettings, Five-Icon Dock, etc, than a iPhone iOS 4 without jailbreak (since currently you need to restore device to jailbreak iOS 4) anytime.

So I'm trying to downgrade back to 3.1 from 4.0 on my iPod Touch 2G, but nothing is working. Anyone getting this to work?
