what do you mean?? to ping it... type

ping 192.168.1.1 or ping 192.168.0.1

that is for the modem.

If you want to know the IP of your computer, go run and type ipconfig

Internal of his system would be 192.168.1/0.x

External would be his outside Router / System Address

Internal is not always 192.168, thats just what most consumer routers use.

In the CMD, type in ipconfig /all to get your internet IP address.
