I have a question is it possible to find out information about somebody when all you have is there IP adress??

Yes there are ways, but never give out yours or someone elts's IP. I had a program that told you some info when a IP was entered but I cant seem to find it. When I do I will post back.

I don't think you can. You can run a standard lookup of any IP and see what ISP owns that block of IP address, but beyond that you would need the internal records from that ISP. (that's how the authorities catch bad guys, they subpoena the records). If you would like to see who owns the IP block of addresses I use this site, (This info is public domain, anyone can view it)

Interesting situation. Where is this guy talking trash? A forum, blog, etc...? How do you know he lives local? (he could be in India...)

He is talkin trash on an xanga chatterbox nd if u click the name which is annoynemus it gives u the ip adress

don't know if you can do much about it, unless you can pretend to be someone your not, and get him to give you his street address. Sorry..., anyone else have any ideas?

Ok I ran a few tests from the Ip address listed on the website. First of all you need to understand that the complete ip address is not shown. 65.30.97.xxx So we need to find out who it might be in that block of addresses.... I rana little test and ran across 24 active and responding hosts. One of these might be him, and they also might not be. He could have a firewall, or just have his computer off when i ran the scan...

Ask Coleen if she has access to view the entire ip address, since she is the admin of the blog.. If you find the last 2 or 3 digit numer (1-250) we might be able to get a little more info

when i used norton and neotrace express to trace ip's, they told you approximatly where they live, usually in the same city or close by, but there are sometimes when then cant even find them.
